Doug Jones Has Been Endorsed By End Citizens United For The Senate Seat

End Citizens United has selected Democratic nominee Doug Jones to run in the Alabama special election on December 12, 2017. He will be running against Republican Ray Moore a former Supreme Court Judge of Alabama.

ECU has called out Ray Moore for having a “bigoted agenda” and a person who supports “a rigged system in Washington”. ECU accuses Moore of favoring special interests groups and neglects the concerns of the working class people.

Doug Jones has vowed to work with ECU in support of working-class families by putting an end to corruption due to big money donors. While serving as the US Attorney, Jones brought members of the KKK, who were involved in the 16sth Street Baptist Church bombing, to justice and thus is committed to safety and security for all.

Ray Moore, on the other hand, is supported by hate groups, such as Public Advocate, a radical anti-LGBT group. He is also leading the charge in the repeal of the Johnson Amendment which allows political groups to use churches as a front in order to funnel money into campaigns. Not to mention, Moore paid both he and his wife an excess of $1 million from a charity fund in his control, according to Tiffany Muller, president of ECU.

ECU’s support of candidates such as Doug Jones is necessary to the goal of reversing the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision which gives power to super PACs who are advocates for dark money influencing politics. End Citizens United also plans to aid in the legislation of campaign finance reforms to put the power back into everyday citizen’s hands.

Over the past two years since the ECU’s inception, membership has increased to more than 3 million. ECU believes in grassroots funding by everyday people who are often under-represented due to special interests and huge secretive donations by political systems.

As stated so eloquently in the Preamble to the Constitution, “We the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity…” The ECU is committed to supporting the people and upholding the very values that our country was built upon.

End Citizen United Continues to Fight for Campaign Financing Reforms

End citizen united is a political action committee, PAC funded by the grassroots. The formation of the PAC resulted from the Supreme Court’s ruling in 2010 that allowed corporate entities (citizen united) to finance political campaigns. The decision led to the creation of super-PACs which spend an unlimited amount of money in support of an individual. ECU’s primary objective is to champion for political reforms and eventual reversal of the ruling.

To achieve its goal, End Citizen United actively supports and campaigns for candidates who champion for changes in the campaign system. It also helps individuals who have been victims of corporate entities, mega donors, dark money and special interest groups. Though formed in 2010, the official launching of End Citizen United was in March 2015. Since then it has created significant ripples in the political arena.

End Citizen United first participated in political elections in the 2016 cycle. During the period, it raised $ 25 million which it used to help in the election of 15 new members of the Congress. It was the third largest spending PAC in the election. Additionally, the PAC together with other groups aided in the election of Jon Ossof on the April 18th, 2017 Georgia’s special election. ECU contributed approximately $900,000 towards the same.

From the beginning of 2017, End Citizen United has conducted a series of endorsements in preparation for the 2018 cycle. They have endorsed individuals whom it will support during the elections. Its final endorsements occurred in May when it recommended three people, Bob Casey, Heidi Heitkamp and Sheldon Whitehouse. The three will represent Pennsylvania, North Dakota and Rhodes Island respectively. These individuals are expected to garner massive support in these regions as it has more than 143,000 grassroots members of the ECU.

In addition to endorsements, the ECU has carried out fundraising campaigns to marshal its donors to contribute towards the course. Within the first three months, the PAC had raised $ 4 million from donations from its small-dollar donors. More than 100,000 people participated among which 40% were first-time donors. The increased number of donors is possibly a sign that more people are willing to support reforms in campaign financing legislation. The PAC aims at raising $ 35 million by the beginning of the 2018 cycle campaigns.

Even though ECU needs money, it does not accept donations more than $ 5000 from an individual. The limit was the standard for traditional PACs before the Supreme Court allowed dark money and corporate to finance campaigns. Average single contribution in the recent campaigns was $12 according to the president of End Citizen United, Tiffany Mueller. The PAC is willing to work with all individuals and groups as long as they support reforms in campaign legislation.

Social Activist and Political Donor George Soros Is Not Giving Up On Democracy

When the migration issue hit the boiling point two years ago, hedge fund investor, and social activist, George Soros was hard at work finding a solution. Soros attends the economic summit in Davos, Switzerland every year, and that year he laid out a plan to help ease the tension and find an effective way to deal with the largest displacement of people in more than 70 years. Soros offered a migration solution to the European Union, but the EU was up to its neck in nationalistic banter, so his ideas were ignored. Learn more about George at Biography.

When Hillary Clinton decided to run for president, one of the people she called for help was George Soros. Soros was on the political sidelines for 12 years. When Bush won the White House in 2004, Soros did not take the loss lightly.  But when his old friend Hillary said she would run, Soros immediately got back into the political arena with both feet. Soros donated more than $7 million to the Clinton campaign, and at least $10 million more to other Democratic candidates. Some news sources say George Soros donated $27 million to the Democratic Party in 2016. When Clinton was defeated, Soros lost $1 billion in the stock market, but most of that money found its way back into the Soros hedge fund account a few weeks after the election.

They don’t understand why a guy who is worth $25 billion is so hell-bent on being a Democratic advocate and donor. Most people don’t realize Soros gives millions of dollars away every year to support social cause around the world through his Open Society Foundation. They have no idea why Soros would be so vocal about global economic pitfalls or the value of the Chinese Yuan.

But when people do the research, they discover a man who is wired to help other people. Part of that wiring comes from personal experiences. He escaped the Nazis when they occupied Hungary. He went to London and paid his way through the London School of Economics by waiting tables. George came to the United States in 1951 and got a job on Wall Street. He worked his way up in the investment world and by 1969 he started his own hedge fund with $12 million. George had enough friends who believed in him to start a hedge fund.

The investment business taught Soros the value of friendship and freedom. His experiences showed him what human rights and an open society can do to promote freedom and Democracy. George uses what he learned to make the world a better place.
